EYC Group Packet

We are so blessed to have you and your group at Exposure Youth Camp 2019!  In order to make this the best Exposure yet please review the following information prior to arriving on December 27.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Hotel Locations

Your group will be staying in one of these five hotels:

Embassy Suites- 800 Monroe Street, Huntsville, Alabama, 35801

SpringHill Suites- 745 Constellation Place Dr. SW Huntsville, Alabama 35801

Homewood Suites- 714 Gallatin St SW Huntsville, AL 35801

Double Tree Hotel- 6000 Memorial Pkwy SW, Huntsville, AL 35802

Mariott Hotel – Space and Rocket Center- 5 Tranquility Base Huntsville, Alabama 35805

More hotels will be added if needed.

Note: the order of registration and payment will determine where each group will stay. Any changes to your group registration after you have made your initial registration and your initial payment could affect your group’s hotel placement.

 

Hotel Accommodations

All Hotels:

  • There are a total of 4 people in king suites and 5-6 people in double bed suites.
  • Hotels and hotel rooms are based upon a first registration and payment basis. If you are looking to stay in the Embassy Suites, please be sure to register and pay ASAP. REMEMBER BOTH MUST BE COMPLETED TO RESERVE YOUR PLACE IN THE FIRST HOTEL!!!

 

Parking

  • If driving a bus to Exposure Youth Camp you can park your assigned hotel’s lot () or in the North Hall Lot of the Von Braun Center.
  • If driving a car please park in the Embassy Suites Parking Garage located in the front of the hotel.
  • There is no charge for parking.

 

 

Check-In

  • Check In will take place from 3:00 – 5:00 pm on December 27 in the South Hall of the Von Braun Center.
  • Only 1 adult group member is allowed to come through the EYC registration.
  • There will be Exposure Youth Camp Board and Executive Committee Members on site to help with traffic flow and to answer any questions you may have.

 

Unloading & Loading

  • Upon arrival we ask that your group not to unload their luggage until your registration is complete and hotel keys are in hand.
  • Once registration is complete and your adult leader has returned to your group with hotel keys you may unload at the front of your hotel you have been assigned.

 

Worship & Assembly

  • Worship and morning assembly will be in the South Hall of the Von Braun Center.

 

Rules

  1. Welcome! We’re glad that you’re at Exposure!
  2. Exposure is a Christian camp! Therefore, Christian conduct is expected from everyone who attends!
  3. Youth Ministers / Leaders are asked to take care of any problems that may arise during our time at Exposure. If a problem continues the Exposure staff will deal with it. This is a time of spiritual focus and fellowship. We do not anticipate any behavior problems. However, if inappropriate behavior occurs, the individual(s) will be dealt with accordingly.
  4. Exposure is a non-controversial, spiritually uplifting youth camp. Any controversial activity that you may participate in at your home congregation, we ask for unity’s sake, to avoid during Exposure! (e.g. hand clapping during singing, etc.) Thank You!
  5. In addition to the hotel security, members of the Exposure staff will monitor the hallways each night (as well as all other activities). Please respect their requests as they are looking out for your best interest! Everette Johnson is our new Head of Security.
  6. Team leaders are in charge during team time.
  7. All participants must attend all sessions (this includes team time… everyone must attend all team sessions). For security reasons, no one will be allowed to return to his/her room unless they are accompanied by an adult chaperone.
  8. We need to be very careful in the ways that we conduct ourselves around young people. Be very aware of sexual harassment policies. Watch for any sexual harassment or inappropriate behavior between campers. There is no PDA, Offenders will be sent home!
  9. Please be quiet as you pass to or from your room and please be courteous to other hotel guests.
  10. Observe all hotel rules.
  11. Youth ministers (or youth leaders) you are ultimately responsible for your group at all times!!! We offer no Security during free time. So please make sure that your chaperones are aware of the location of your kids at all times.
  12. During free time, if you leave the hotel (to go to the mall, etc.), you must go with your youth minister (liability concerns).
  13. Young people have been assigned to a team and a room for this camp. Encourage them to stay on the team that they are assigned to and in the room that they were assigned.
  14. Each classroom has a poster outside w/ info on it. Also, all info about camp can be found on the EYC App.
  15. Complementary breakfast will be provided each morning at your hotel location. Make sure your group members wear their lanyard to breakfast in order to be served. No pajamas are to be worn outside the rooms.
  16. No catch bars are to be used to prop open the doors. Keep doors closed!
  17. Board of Directors or those asked to lead prayers, etc., will be the only ones who will approach microphones, etc. (In order to save time.)
  18. Any damage to rooms will be paid for by the individuals in that room.
  19. Off-limit areas explained:
  20. No guys in girls’ rooms, etc. w/o chaperone.
  21. No one allowed in swimming area/gym (unless there is a baptism).
  22. Curfew for entire camp is whatever nightly curfew is. No one may leave the hotel after curfew. Adults or kids.
  23. If you have a room that has a view to the outside, please close your blinds while changing clothes, etc. nobody needs to see that, no matter how high up your room may be.
  24. Ordering pizza is allowed, and they may have it delivered to their rooms. Pizza must be delivered before curfew!
  25. Please stick to the schedule of events and do not be late.
  26. Make sure that young people in your group clean up after themselves (food areas).
  27. No PDA (chaperones and kids). We will send you home.
  28. All phones are blocked. No local or long-distance calls can be made. Room to room calls or calling cards may be used (phone in lobby can be used).
  29. Visitors that may come are asked to pay for their meals, must check in with a board member (wear lanyards, etc.).
  30. Do not knock on random doors!
  31. Do not go to the hotel front desk for any reason! All hotel changes must go through the Exposure Board.
  32. Some hotels will have other hotel guests- please be courteous to them at all times- especially late at night.
  33. Wi-fi does cost at the Embassy Suites. If you need Wi-fi please contact the hotel.
